FAQ
What do I need to bring to class?
Dogs need to wear a flat (regular) collar or properly fitted harness and be on a standard 6 foot leash.
It is extremely useful to have a treat bag that either clips to your belt or is attached to a belt that you wear. Doggone Good Rapid Rewards Pouch is the bag I use and it can be purchased on Amazon. There are other good brands. Look for a bag that is larger rather than smaller so that your hand can reach in and out quickly.
What is provided for use during class?
Soft and crunchy food rewards are provided. You may bring your own food rewards, including your dog's regular kibble, if you prefer. Clickers (markers) are provided. Training notes are sent via email after private sessions or after the first group class session.
Where can I park?
The parking lot in front of the studio or street parking is available. If you park in the lot, please pull forward, facing the main north entrance. Please do not park facing east or west.
Why is the door locked?
Safety is our first concern. Dogs entering and leaving the studio need to have a clear path and not have to encounter another dog coming directly toward them. This is a trigger for some dogs and it is easily avoided.
People walking in to ask questions or look around would be very disruptive to the learning environment. Keeping doors locked allows us to eliminate these types of distractions.
If I miss a class will there be a make up?
It is not possible to guarantee make ups due to missed class sessions.
However, if there is space in an appropriate class you may be able to attend in order to make up your missed session. Check with me regarding this option if you miss a session due to emergency or illness.
Can my teenager bring the dog to training?
Due to liability concerns, there MUST be an accompanying adult with all minors.
What are those treats you use in class?
We use Red Barn Semi Moist Dog Food (soft) and Sportmix Puppy Bones (crunchy). Both are purchased at Poudre Feed in Loveland. Amazon and Chewy both sell the Red Barn food.
