HANNAH HOWARD | Colorado

I’m Hannah Howard, local animal lover, dog advocate and trainer at KK9 Dog Training.

My interest in dog training began with my curiosity in animal behavior and behavioral ecology courses in college and how the theories and facts about animal behavior affect our relationships with our pets.

Dogs are an integral part of life for many of us, but sometimes we (humans and canines) face tough challenges. To live our best lives with our dogs we all need strategies for success as we attempt to communicate across species.
I can truly empathize with owners who are struggling with challenging behaviors in the dogs they love because I have faced challenges with my own dogs.

Positive, force-free training methods and compassionate client interactions are my passions. Finding effective ways to communicate what we want from our dogs is key! This may take some problem-solving and patience, but rest assured, I will be there for you and your dog every step of the way. Let’s discover what works for you and your dog so that you experience success as well as strengthen your human/animal bond.

"I can't even begin to tell you how much one training session with KK9 improved Bruce's behavior and my confidence. They gave me the tools to help make him a family member instead of a project. Everyday is better, every training session shows improvements. Bruce is a happier dog because of the training tips we received. I can't thank KK9 enough for their patience, kindness and calm with Bruce and myself."

"I had no idea how smart my dog was until I found KK9! They met us where we were at both literally and figuratively. It turns out that you can teach an old dog new tricks. There is still work to be done but just 4 sessions with KK9 provided an absolute breakthrough."

KAY WILLIAMS | Remote

I’m Kay Williams, owner of KK9 Dog Training.
Because I have dealt with frustrating behaviors in my own dogs, I have a great deal of empathy for owners who may be discouraged with their dog in spite of loving them very much.

Positive, force-free training methods are my focus. Knowing how to communicate so that the student understands (canine or human), is the foundation of all good teaching. This kind of learning is fun for dogs and their people.

My background in education helps me to tailor instruction to individuals. I have extensive experience in differentiated instruction which has helped me teach to the individual client. I have a great deal of patience and am willing to persevere with dogs and owners.

While there are common traits and learning principles for canines and humans, each dog and owner is unique. I love to discover what works for each individual and to gently train for success!

I look forward to working with you and your companion.
